Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top establishments, learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell developed a passion for food and cooking at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she went after earning an English degree as well as a communications certificate from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great adventure. I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from it. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany as well as La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) during her time at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and has made an impression on her perception of food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens children living with challenges. She is also a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador. she advocates for children with diabetes and awareness. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation as part of her mentorship task. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
