Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends soul gospel jazz and R&B with a distinctive mix. From Broadway to European festival and clubs, Avery Sunshine has been a hit all over the world. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta however, she comes out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training on Atlanta's R&B scene. The very first track to showcase her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 song. It was remixed and has become a part of her repertoire. The Fighting Temptations was the second soundtrack that she sang on. She was the main pianist for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention through her performances on four consecutive days during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's inaugural in 2009.
